How to Throw a Birthday Party at Lolli & Bobo's

An ice cream shop is a genuinely easy place to have a birthday party, and we'd like to make the case for why.

No cooking. No cleanup at your house. No hoping the weather holds. The entertainment is built in — there's a play area, and the food is the kind of thing nobody has to be talked into eating.

You've got two ways to do it.

Option one: have it here

Bring the party to the shop. Everybody orders what they actually want, which solves the problem where you buy one flavor of cake and three kids won't touch it. The play area keeps the younger crowd busy while the adults sit down.

It works especially well for the age range where a two-hour party is exactly right and a three-hour party is a mistake.

Option two: bring the truck to you

If you'd rather host at home, at a park, or anywhere else, our solar-powered truck can come to you. It's quiet — no generator — so it doesn't take over the yard, and there's no exhaust around the kids. Here's more on how the truck works.

The truck is popular for backyard parties, neighborhood birthdays, and any event where the venue doesn't have a kitchen.

Worth thinking about before you book

Your date and time. Weekend afternoons book up fastest, especially in spring and summer. The truck has a live availability calendar — pink days are already taken.

Your headcount. A rough number is enough to start.

Allergies and dietary needs. Tell us up front. We keep dairy-free options that most people can't distinguish from the regular stuff, plus Italian ice and sorbet. Nobody in your group has to sit out.

Whether you want cake too. Ice cream and cake are not in competition. Bring one if you want one.
