The Dairy-Free Scoop: What We Serve, and Why It Doesn't Taste Like a Compromise

If you're the person in your group who can't have dairy, you already know the drill. Everybody else picks a flavor. You get the one sad option, if there is one.

We think that's a solvable problem.

What we keep

Dairy-free ice cream. Not an apology. We've had plenty of people order it without knowing, and plenty more order it on purpose and then question whether we handed them the right cup. It's good on its own terms, not just good for dairy-free.

Italian ice. Bright, clean, and refreshing in a way rich ice cream isn't. Genuinely the better call on a hot afternoon, dairy or no dairy.

Sherbet and sorbet. Fruit-forward and light. Sorbet is dairy-free by definition; sherbet contains a small amount of dairy, so if you're avoiding it entirely, sorbet is your lane.

All three sit alongside the regular lineup on our Ice Cream Flavors page.

What rotates

Our flavors change weekly — 28-plus at any given time — and the dairy-free lineup rotates right along with them. So the honest answer to “what dairy-free flavors do you have?” is: ask when you come in, because it changes.

We post the current week's lineup on Instagram and Facebook. If you're planning around a specific need, call ahead at (865) 583-9977 and we'll tell you what's in the case that day.

A note on how careful we can be

We scoop dairy and non-dairy in the same shop. We're careful, and we'll change scoops if you ask — please do ask.

But if you're dealing with a severe milk allergy rather than an intolerance or a preference, we want to be straight with you: we can't promise a zero-contact environment. We'd rather tell you that than have you find out the hard way.

For parties and events

If you're booking a birthday, a school event, or the truck, tell us about dietary needs when you book. Planning it in advance is easy. Improvising it on the day is not.

Nobody in your group should have to stand there watching everyone else eat.
